This neighborhood screams “home” with its generously oversized front porches, all brick mansions, and newly stylish townhomes and condos that have sprung from old home sites. Elizabeth is home to Charlotte’s first neighborhood theater, “The Visulite,” which thrives today as a local nightspot for live music. New shops, upscale restaurants, and revitalization along Elizabeth Avenue have created a trendy Charlotte, NC hotspot that attracts visitors to the Elizabeth community.
Local Hot spots
You aren’t really in Elizabeth if you haven’t hit the many places off Elizabeth Ave. Some spots that we love:
Cajun Queen- If you love seafood and live Jazz then this is a spot you must check out. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it has never disappointed. The price is reasonable and they also have complimentary valet parking.
Viva Chicken- This Peruvian inspired restaurant is one of the team’s favorite. The rotisserie chicken is amazingly cooked and the fried rice or stuffed avocado areto simply die for!
Carpe Diem- American Cuisine voted top 10 Charlotte restaurants 10 years in a row. If you want a great atmosphere and even better food you must try this place out.
Elizabeth has put a lot of effort into adding new restaurant options to the area such as Caswell Station a Casual neighborhood bar and restaurant with extensive food options.
Quality of life
Elizabeth is located just outside of Uptown Charlotte and adjacent to Chantilly, Midwood, Myers Park, and Eastover. This neighborhood is full of traditional homes, but there are also quite a few condo buildings and townhomes as you get closer to the city. The best part of life in Elizabeth that residents love is the ability to get to and from Uptown Charlotte quickly.
